                                                               INTRODUCTION

WHAT IF GOD…? is a thought-provoking and faith-building work. Its intention is to thoroughly address some very challenging biblical questions so as to spotlight God’s love, wisdom and justice even when His actions appear to be difficult to comprehend.

WHAT IF GOD…? takes the reader on an energizing and mind-expanding experience. It begins with an exploration of God’s nature and then proceeds to address challenging biblical events that leave many believers doubtful and confused. To capture the reader’s interest, the book uses a hypothetical, “What if God…?” approach, so as to provide a thought-provoking and unusual context within which perplexing biblical events are clarified scripturally and logically.

For centuries, skeptics have pointed at various perplexing Old Testament events, such as God’s drastic punishments of various individuals and societies, as clear evidence that God was cruel and unjust. But what if God had used a more lenient approach? Would that have been the wiser way to go for a God of love and justice? Or could it be that, in reality, the opposite is true?

In the New Testament, we take many events surrounding Christ for granted. But what if God had not allowed Christ to come and die for the sins of humanity? In addition, Christ chose to die on the cross after hours of unbearable anguish. But what if Christ, instead, had simply died a quick death? He would have died for us anyway, but He chose a much more gruesome end. Could that, also, have great significance in helping us understand the mind of God and Christ?

Lastly, what if God would not climax the end of our age with the horrific events described in the book of Revelation? What if He would, instead, orchestrate Christ’s return in a more peaceful and less catastrophic way? Could it be that even the cataclysmic end of the age is another manifestation of God’s wisdom and greatness?

As readers will discover, God’s actions are invariably wise, fair, just. No matter how seemingly cruel or unjustified, every one of his interventions, when looked at closely, reveals great patience, wisdom and justice. By the book’s end, all readers should be reassured that the ruler of the universe is the best Creator there could ever be, the best Father we could ever have, and that humanity is in very good hands.
